Order Custom Garments

Seeing as I make all of my garments myself, I am able to make any style you choose in any pretty much any fabric you like.

How it works

Step 1:  Choose a Style

Step 2: Choose a Fabric

Step 3: Provide measurements or try on garments  in person

Step 4: Pay Deposit

Step 5: Wait ~3 weeks

Step 5: Receive photos of final garment and pay final invoice

Step 6: Receive order (Woohoo!) in the mail or pick up in person

Step 7: Flaunt it!

All you need to do is choose your style from my catalogue, choose your fabric and send me your measurements or have me measure you (or better yet, try things on in person to make sure the fit is perfect).
I will usually need Bust, Waist, Hips and it would help to have your height and shoulder- to-waist, waist-to-floor/desired skirt length and bicep circumference too.

Once I have received your $50 deposit, I will get to work making your new garment for you! I will cut out the pieces from my patterns, sew it up, press it and send it to you when it's done.

I usually ask 3 weeks to complete a garment from receival of deposit to dropping it off at the post office. Longer times may sometimes be needed depending on my work load or if I need to source a particular fabric for you. Once the garment is finished, I will send you photos of it and an invoice for the remaining balance, plus postage, if required. Then you recieve your beautiful new handmade garment just for you! Don't forget to send me pics of you wearing it! It really makes my day and (with permission) I'd like to post them on my socials! :)

FAQ

Q: Can I provide my own fabric?

A: Yes! Some customers like to provide their own fabrics if they have something really unique in mind. This is totally fine as long as the fabric is appropriate for the style of garment you're wanting, If there's plenty of it to work with and within my skill set/machine's capabilities for sewing. I generally stick to 100% cotton woven fabrics such as poplin, drill or quilting cottons. I don't have a coverstitch machine so knit fabrics like jersey probably aren't something I could really achieve a professional result with so may have to decline.

Q: Can you make other garments that aren't in your catalogue?

A: Hmmmm that depends. Generally I don't, for a few reasons. If it requires patternmaking, that takes a really long time and I would have to charge a heck of a lot to make a completely customised piece, plus there would be fittings to consider too, which I also have to charge for as it takes time, and a lot of skill and experience to do.

Another thing to consider is that the garments I have in my catalogue, are designed and made by me, including the pattern. So I understand exactly how to make them and have made them loads of times so am fairly quick at them. Making other styles, from commercial patterns for example, always takes longer because I'm not familiar with it, and sometimes has unexpected results which can cause a lot of wasted time and fabric, can lead to mistakes and frustration for both me and the customer. So it really depends what you're asking for, and generally I don't feel comfortable doing this. I hope you understand.

Q: Can you make wedding dresses?

A: If you're referring to the traditional bridal gown, see above. If you're talking about having one of my usual styles made into a dress you will wear at your wedding, then sure! I have actually done this for a customer in the past. She wanted a more casual dress and something that had some rainbow colour in it. I was able to find a white fabric with rainbow coloured polka-dots and made it into my classic fit & flare dress for her. She was stoked and I was very proud to have been able to be part of her special day.

Q: Can you make adjustments to your styles?

A: Yes, I'm more than happy to do this and have done so many times. If it's a simple thing such as lengthening the skirt, shortening the straps, taking in the waist seam slightly,
Yes, I sure can.

Bigger adjustments may require a slight added charge for extra time/materials.

I do offer proper fitting appointments too but will need to charge a fee for this on top of the garment price if it's going to be more complicated than a quick measure and try on - but it really is worth doing to ensure you have a perfect fit. Also, once we have nailed your perfect fitting pattern, I will have it ready to make as many perfectly fitting dresses as you like in any fabric you desire! I always keep my customer's pattern's for them whenever they're ready to come back for something new.
