My new labels arrived for my heat packs! Had to order some 100% cotton ones cause the polyester ones could have melted in the microwave. They look so good and profesh! So cool how such a small detail can make such a big difference

Come down to RMIT Brunswick Open Day this Sunday Aug 9. I'll be there as part of the Alumni Makers Market! Along with some other amazing labels and small businesses - these in the pics are just a handful. I did a Diploma of Graphic Design at RMIT just a few years ago. It'll be cool to be back on campus! I wonder if any of my work is still hanging up around the place 😆

New Knit Dress patterns done ✅️ Size 14 - 28 ready to cut and sew! Phew that was a bit of a marathon.

If you're wondering what my process is when developing a new style, I usually start by making a toille (like a mockup) for myself in my own size (around a 22), try it on and make adjustments as needed. Then I'll make myself a prototype and usually wear it around to test it out. Then if I'm happy with it, I might make a few for the stall to guage people's interests and see if the fit is good on other people, then if there seems to be enough interest, I'll make a full set of patterns like this.
I usually make the first draft with paper and pencil, then the full range I'll do digitally with Illustrator so I can easily grade the sizes up & down. Then I print them off, cut them out and they're ready to use to make real garments!
I like to colour-code the patterns in sizes to make them easier to identify.

Fun fact, did you know that the standard grading increment between sizes is 5cm? But in plus sizes it is generally larger. So with my sizing I do 5cm between 14 & 16. 6cm between 16, 18, 20 & 22. And 7cm between 22, 24, 26 & 28.

Guys, I finally got a coverstitch machine! (Dontcha love fb marketplace?) So I can finally sew knit fabrics with a professional finish 💜 I saw this amazing viscose jersey fabric and grabbed it to try out sewing myself a dress and I'm instantly in love. So naturally I'm going to make a bunch more for the stall. So if anyone wants to put their name down for one, let me know! I'll be cutting them out this week ready for @aplusmarket on the 31st May

They're sooo nice and warm and honestly the fact that you can wear them around the house without having to hold them is soo nice.
